Synthesis of SiC matrix in ceramic matrix composite from Gaseous SiO using Ni

چکیده
Silicon carbide (SiC) can be synthesized from gaseous silicon monoxide (SiO) and toluene vapor in the presence of a nickel (Ni) component, form Ni or oxide at temperature 1400 °C with very high catalytic activation. With aid effect, SiC formed continuously supplied SiO such that: fibrous is free space containing component having particle size several micrometers; dense body powder compact carried particularly, matrix between filaments fabric when placed within fabric. The latter two cases are believed due to formation embed small spaces particles positions spread substantially over entire surface particles, which outer far blocking since not surface. Accordingly, this study proposes novel chemical infiltration process for creating ceramic composite.
